Avishka, Maduka help Thurstan to reach pre quarters

A good spell of bowling by Avishka Peiris (4 for 25) and an unbeaten knock by Maduka Wedasinghe helped Thurstan College to record a convincing win over D S Senanayake College and enter the pre-quarter finals of their under 17 division I cricket tournament. Batting first, DS Senanayake College made 178 runs all out in with Binura Fernando (40) and U Bandara (38) were the chief scorer of DS' innings. Avishka Peiris did the most of the damage on behalf of Thurstan, taking 4 for 25.

In return, Thurstan reached their target losing five wickets.

Their sixth wicket partnership of 60 runs between Maduka Wedasinghe (42 n.o.) and Rajitha Perera (23 n.o.) was the highlight of the innings.
