Financial assistance for cancer patients

Pilika Suwasarana Sadu Society in Gampaha in a bid to help cancer patients of low-income families are calling for applications from persons suffering from cancer to provide an annual financial grant.

The society was established in 2007 under the guidance of Medagama Sri Sunanadarama Chief Incumbent Ven. Thummodara Samitha Thera. Several cancer patients in the Gampaha district who found difficulties in obtaining expensive treatment have been offered with an annual financial donation of Rs.6,000.

Assistance will be provided to cover medication, hospital transportation and consultation charges. All facilities and instructions for cancer patients will be offered freely by this organisation.

It has also planned to hold awareness sessions with the participation of beneficiaries, philanthropists and members of the society on September 18 at Green Garden hotel in Gampaha. A series of social welfare programmes have also been organized on the same day.
