CID request to Trinco parents

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has warned Tamil and Muslim parents living in Trincomalee not to hand over their underaged children to any outsider who comes on the pretext of promising jobs for them abroad.

A special team directed by the CID DIG had uncovered a massive racket by job agencies in the Maradana Police area following the arrest of a job agency owner with his vehicle and several along others who are alleged to have assisted the job agency owner.

CID investigations revealed that job agency owners go to Trincomalee, collect underage children and bring them to Colombo, Dehiwela and Kadawata, prepare forged documents, changing their names and the age and send them abroad for employment after sexually abusing them.

The CID team had recovered 15 forged passports from the job agency owner's possession.
