CEB meter reader’s wife nabbed for power piracy

A woman, whose husband is employed as a meter reader at the Ceylon Electricity Board, was nabbed pirating electricity. W. Renuka Jayasili, a resident of Henegama, Pokunuwita was fined Rs 10,000 by Horana Magistrate Mahinda Ranasingha.

He also ordered her to pay Rs 140,898.20 to the Ceylon Electricity Board. Jayasili is also the secretary of a Women’s Authority in Bandaragama. The raid was carried out by Colombo Special Investigation Unit, investigation officer P.D. Ajith and a special team with the assistance of Horana Police.
