Over Rs 4,770 m for A'pura development

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa said at the
Anuradhapura District Coordination Committee meeting that over Rs. 4.770
million will be allocated for development activities in Anuradhapura to
coincide with the Deyata Kirula national development exhibition to be
held in the district.
The District Coordination Committee was held at C.T.C. Hall
Anuradhapura yesterday.
Accordingly, Medawachchiya, Horowpothana, Mihinthale, Kekirawa ,
Kalawewa, Anuradhapura West and East will be developed rapidly, this
financial allocation will be utilized for development activities in the
district.
The meeting discussed in detail matters related to Deyata Kirula
national exhibition, Divi Neguma programme, Provincial Road Development
Project, Gama Neguma Project, Samurdhi Programme, agriculture and
industry development, small industry and self employment development,
health, maternity and child care clinics development, trade and
industries, pre- school education and rural development and other
matters.
The progress of development projects launched in the Anuradhapura
district were also evaluated.
Minister Rajapaksa said that around 702 Grama Niladhari divisions
which include 3,005 villages in 23 Divisional Secretariats in
Anuradhapura district will be provided Rs 1,388 million for the
development of the district by the Ministry of Economic Development.
