Libyan rebels push towards Tripoli
Libyan rebels battled their way closer to Tripoli
on Sunday to help fighters inside the city who rose up overnight
declaring a final showdown with Muammar Gaddafi. The Libyan leader
dismissed the rebels as "rats" and said he would not yield. But his
grip on power looked more fragile than ever after rebels, fighting
for the past six months to end his rule, advanced to within about 25
km (16 miles) of Tripoli's western edge.

‘Mothers doing lion’s share of housework’
Few responsibilities are equally shared between
the sexes, according to a report into British family life. The study
found three-quarters of fathers take on the bulk of home DIY
projects, with a similar proportion of mothers doing the lion’s
share of cleaning and cooking. “Despite talk of modern family life,
old-fashioned stereotypical households are predominant,” said Ina
Mitskavets, consumer and lifestyle analyst at Mintel, which carried
out the research.

hours in baking heat awaiting Pope Benedict XVI — before the heavens
opened and a storm lashed the vast esplanade as the pontiff was
speaking. The pope interrupted his speech for at least 20 minutes as
the wind lashed the stage, blowing off his skullcap and leaving his

Blacklisted Cuba says US shelters ‘terrorists’
