Minister opens fisheries office

Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne opened the newly built fisheries office in Kalutara. The Post Tsunami Coastal Rehabilitation and Resources Development programme provided Rs 11 million for the project.

A conference hall will also be built under the second part of the project, said minister Senaratne after opening the building. Over 20,000 people will benefit.

Minister Senaratne distributed fisheries equipment value of Rs 1.5 million. He also distributed Diyawara Sawiya cheques among the 200 self employed persons in the Kalutara district.
