Like mum, like son

A woman and her young son who were engaged in burglaries were arrested by Koswatta Police yesterday. They had burgled over 10 houses in Wennappuwa, Dankotuwa, Marawila, Kochchikade and Giriulla.

The robberies had been carried out during the day.

Jewellery valued at over thousands of rupees was recovered from the suspects' possession. The suspects leading a luxurious life in Dankotuwa town were arrested on a tip-off.

The woman aged 38 had pawned the items stolen by her son, Police said.
