The Diethelm Travel Sri Lanka launched a new fleet of vehicle to serve the guests at Taj Sumdra Hotel in Colombo.

Diethelm Travel Lanka (Pvt) Ltd Chairman Abbas Esufally said that they have invested over Rs 250 million for the launch of a luxury travel service for the guests of Taj Samudra to provide a better transport service.

The fleet consists of forty Nissan Blubird vehicles which conform to international safety standards in which guests can travel in luxury.

Sri Lanka is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, a great tourist destination and a tourist paradise.

However, the Sri Lanka tourism industry had been devastated by the civil war and now it has shown a rapid increase, he said.

The tourism industry is expected to continue expanding this year and therefore we should upgrade the tourist facilities," he said.

The revenue of the Taj Samudra Hotel has increased by 10 percent comparing to last year. At present Colombo hotel occupancy is 60 percent and the hotels and leisure industry expect the Colombo city hotel occupancy to surge to 75 percent.

Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo already maintains a travel counter for its guests and now it is upgrading to luxury. This travel service will be provided only for the guests at Taj Samudra with affordable prices.
