Dharmadasa, legendary philanthropist

Parliamentarian A H M Azwer MP paid a tribute to the memory of Desamanya H K Dharmadasa in the House on Friday.

He said the late Dharmadasa was a legendary philanthropist, and he gave charity to all communities. His son Upali, the new Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket, following his father's footstep is now giving guidance to the Board to build up a vibrant cricket fraternity, Azwer said while speaking on the vote of condolence on former Minister Sarathchandra Rajakaruna.

Azwer also said that he viewed with revulsion the criticism levelled against Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith by an MP in the Opposition.
