Swadeshi illuminates Devundara Devalaya

For third consecutive year:

Devundara Uthpalawarna Sri Vishnu Maha Devalaya is being illuminated by the Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC. The illumination is done under the theme of “Swadeshi Khomba Aloka Puja Sathkaraya.” The Pooja was held from August 7 to 13.

The Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC Managing Director and Chairperson Amari Wijewardene said “Being a totally 100% Sri Lankan Company, we consider it an honour and a responsibility bestowed upon us to safeguard and uplift our country’s heritage, traditions and values. Swadeshi illuminates places of worship in the country for the benefit of all worshippers and also we want to educate the younger generation on the importance of preserving our values from generation to generation”.

The illumination was followed by a colourful cultural pageant which highlighted Sri Lankan traditions and history.
