"As the present Parliament is represented by all major political
parties and communities in the country, it is the best place where we
could arrive at a consensus about a solution to the national question,"
Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development and
leader of the Eelam Peoples' Democratic Party (EPDP) Douglas Devananda
said.
He also told the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) that they had a
responsibility on behalf of the people they represent, to use the
opportunity presented by the PSC in working towards a political solution
for the national question.
The minister also told other opposition political parties to put
petty differences aside and give the PSC a chance. "Support this present
move which could pave the way in finding a solution acceptable to all
Sri Lankans," he added. |
