Unity key to progress - Minister

Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella emphasized that the time has come for all Sri Lankans not to confine the freedom that has been won only to the mere word of freedom and wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to contribute to the government's development programme and make Sri Lanka second to no other country.

The minister made these comments at a recent function held in Hilton Hotel, Colombo in connection with the launching of the official website of the Photo Focus Institution.

The launching of the official website of the Photo Focus Institution, which has been in the photographic field for over 40 years, was done by Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

The minister said that if international forces work against us we also should oppose them to protect the dignity of the country but however we should work in close collaboration with the developing countries and march forward to achieve our development goals.

He pointed out that there was a time when Sri Lankans were ashamed of calling themselves Sri Lankans and due to the great leadership provided by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, we can proudly call ourselves Sri Lankans with great dignity. He said that we must display our talents to the world that we are a nation that is second to none and that we could victoriously face any challenge in the world.

The minister wished all success to the "Photo Focus" Institution and said that all institutions should be equipped with modern technology and show the talents of Sri Lankans to the whole world.

Director General of the Media Centre for National Security Lakshman Hulugalle, Lake House Editorial Director Seelaratne Senarath and several other media personnel attended the function.
