President to visit China

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will leave for China today on an invitation extended by People’s Republic of China President Hu Jintao, a release from the President’s Media Division said.

President Hu Jintao extended an invitation to President Rajapaksa during the bi-lateral meeting held in St Petersburg, Russia on the sidelines of the St Petersburg Economic Forum in June.

During his four day visit to Beijing and Shenzhen, President Rajapaksa will meet Chinese President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and attend the opening ceremony of the Universiade in Shenzhen.
