Army in smashing 30-10 win over CH and FC
The Sri Lanka Army scored a smashing 30 points (two goals, two tries,
two penalties) to 10 (two tries) win over CH and FC in their Caltex 'A'
division league Plate championships match played at Maitland Crescent
yesterday after leading 17-nil at 'lemons'.
Winger Hapugaskumbura (one), centre Saliya Handapangoda (one), scrum
half Rizvie (one) and centre Etika Moala (one) scored the tries for Army
with full back Gayan Salinda converting two tries and firing across two
penalties. Skipper and winger Lakala Perera scored both tries for CH and
FC with full back Wickremanayake failing to add the extra points to both
tries.

Air Force crush Police
The Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club came up with a stupendous
performance to score a runaway 40 points (two goals, four tries, two
penalties) to 18 (one goal, one try, two penalties) win over Sri Lanka
Police in their Caltex 'A' division League Plate Championship rugby
match played at Police Park yesterday after leading 20-10 at the
breather.
Number eight Sasanka Ariyaratne (two), centre Radhika Hettiarachchi
(one), fly half Chanaka Chandimal (one), flanker Pradeep Kurukulasuriya
(one) and winger Mithun Hapugoda (one), scored the tries for the Airmen
with Radhika Hettiarachchi adding the extra points to two tries and
putting over a penalty while Charith Seneviratne also fired across a
penalty.
Centre Priyantha Ekanayake and lock forward Gayan Fernando scored a
try each for Police with Harshana Wijeweera converting one try and
putting over two penalties.
