Minister briefs diplomatic corps

External Affairs Minister Prof G L Peiris briefed Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Consuls at his ministry recently on a wide range of issues such as the Darusman Report, the Channel-4 footage, implications of illicit migration, the government’s initiatives in political and economic spheres, the outcome of the recently concluded local elections, ongoing political discussions with Tamil parties, progress of rehabilitation of ex-combatants and further measures to consolidate the advantages of peace and political stability.

Defence Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Attorney General Mohan Peiris, Justice and Legal Reforms Ministry Secretary Suhada Gamlath, Presidential Task Force for the Resettlement, Development and Security in the Northern Province Secretary S B Divarathne were also present.
