Lanka to showcase logistics at Expo 2012

Sri Lanka will be able to showcase its prowess at cargo logistics
with the hosting of the International Airfreight, Shipping and Logistics
Expo 2012 billed to be held in Colombo from March 8 to 10, 2012.
This will be the most prestigious exhibition and exclusive
international exhibition devoted to the air freight shipping and
logistics of Sri Lanka, Conference and Exhibition and Management
Services Ltd (CEMS) General Manager Marketing and Operations for South
Asia based in New Delhi Abishek Das told a news conference.
This will also create the much needed networking platform for
creating new logistics networks, new business connections and expanding
trade cooperation.
With a new port and an airport coming up in southern Sri Lanka, will
boost Sri Lanka’s port and shipping capabilities and capacities to top
world standards, which will also be buttressed by its geographical
proximities as well, he said.
Sri Lanka will also be the most important logistics destination in
the world logistics industry surpassing all records and become a new
logistics hub in the South Asian region, he said.
This will also be the biggest meeting place ever to be held in Sri
Lanka for this conference and companies who are looking for in-roads
into Sri Lanka the future logistics hub of South Asia, he said.
