Havelock City begins club house work

The construction of multi storeyed clubhouse complex at the Havelock
City was officially commenced yesterday with plans to complete the
project by October 2012. This facility is centrally located and could be
accessed by all residents in the eight towers. The entire Havelock City
project will be completed by 2015 providing modern day living experience
in today’s context, the Havelock City development company, Mireka
Capital CEO Pravir Samarasinghe said.

This 17 acres of prime land with its maximum connectivity to all key
roads in Colombo city promotes the unique feature of city within a city
concept, he said.
Havelock City is the second mega real estate development project in
Sri Lanka under the aegis of Overseas Realty Ceylon which is spearheaded
by Singaporean real estate entrepreneur and business tycoon S.P. Tao. It
is Sri Lanka’s largest real estate investment to date at US $ 350
million. The construction cost for the Havelock City Club House is
estimated at US $ 4 million.
The Havelock City is the single largest cleared site within Colombo
which incorporates mixed development of residential, retail and office
users within one project.
The four storied clubhouse complex will have a total built up area of
40,000 square feet. It will have more facilities and services and will
be the largest clubhouse of any condominium development in Sri Lankan
with two storeys extended beyond the roof top.
The project architect service is provided by China while landscaping
is from Singapore and consultancy is from Hong Kong. The facilities at
the clubhouse are provided for residents only.
Among the other features of this clubhouse are multi-functional hall
for recreation activities, two golf courses, modern gym, two meeting
rooms, two restaurants, a day care centre, 30 metre pool with separate
pool for children and six acre landscaped roof garden with water garden.
Havelock City will comprise 1,080 luxury apartments by 2015 after the
completion of construction work and will house the largest six storeyed
shopping mall in the country.
Havelock City phase one is already completed with Park and Elibank
towers already in occupation, while phase two which comprise of two more
towers begins construction in October this year with plans to complete
in 30 months.
The final four towers under the phase three and four will be
completed by December 2015.
