Housing scheme opened in Batticaloa

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa and First Deputy
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Acting Deputy Minister for Economic
Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Amir Mansour Borghai
participated as the chief guests of the opening ceremony of new housing
scheme of the Kankeyanodai Village, Manmunaipattu DS Division in the
Batticaloa District. The housing scheme was built for the benefit of
civilians who were homeless as a result of the war.
The scheme includes 70 Housing units, mosque, Community and Health
centre, Childrens Park and internal road network. The cost of the
project is Rs 171 million. Eastern Province Chief Minister
Shivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, Child Affairs and Women’s Affairs Deputy
Minister M.L.A.M. Hisbulla, Iranian Ambassador Mahamoud Rahimi Gorgi
also participated. |
