Lankan education reaches int’l standards

Education in Sri Lanka has developed rapidly to compete with
international standards, Sri Lanka Foundation Board of Studies Chairman
Prof. W.D. Laksman said.
He was addressing at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
between the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute(SLFI) and the Sri Lanka
Institute of marketing (SLIM) to launch the executive diploma in
marketing and business development course at the Sri Lanka Foundation
yesterday.
He was optimistic that well equipped private universities will be set
up in Sri Lanka in the near future and public-private partnership will
contribute to create a healthy young generation geared with latest
eduction techniques to help the country progress.
“It is a positive trend the latest addition of private education to
the public and corporate eduction which would help the student
generation to explore the possibilities of imparting internationally
accepted courses in the country, he added.
Sri Lanka Foundation Chairman Dr. Ranjith Bandara said though Sri
Lanka Foundation was not a university or technical college it has taken
measures to avail its services to new educational spectrum for the
well-being of society.
He said the SLF was of the opinion that adult education is
indispensable and contributory for the country’s development. It will
take more positive steps to gain knowledge in different disciplines, he
said. |
