810,000 new shares to the market :

Alliance goes for 1:2 Bonus Issue

Alliance Finance Co. PLC will shortly go in for a bonus issue where one new share will be offered for every two shares, making 810,000 new shares be offered to the market on its already existing 1,620,000 issued share capital. The company will be giving a new share for every two shares held for the 1,620,000 shares which is the issued share capital in capitalization of reserves for which we have already informed the Colombo Stock Exchange after Board approval at its meeting Wednesday.

Singer hits Rs 10 billion revenue mark in first half

The Singer Group recorded Rs 10.27 billion in revenue in the first half of the 2011 financial year. This remarkable achievement was a 38 percent increase over the equivalent period in the 2010 financial year which, in turn, marked an impressive growth over the same period in 2009.

Market starts in green

The stock market started the new week yesterday, enduring a high volatile trading environment. The market started in green, lost its momentum in the mid trading session and finally displaying some recovery to end trading. ASI gained marginally by 8.76 points (+0.13%) to end at 6,854.14 while sensitive MPI increased by 34.87 points (+0.56%) to end at 6,244.94.
