Profood, Propack begins on August 26
The main international exhibition of food processing, packaging and
agribusiness fraternities will once again held on August 26th, 27th and
28th to showcase Sri Lanka's complete food supply chain in this much
awaited 10th anniversary show. Culminating from the past nine successful
exhibitions, the 10th anniversary exhibition will have over 300 stalls
covering the totality of the food supply chain, giving opportunities for
investors, traders and consumers to see first hand the availability and
opportunities in this industry.
This year's event will also showcase many overseas companies
participating, especially from the SAARC region. An area has been
allocated for international pavilions that have seen the tremendous
growth of this event and the popularity it has among all consumers and
stakeholders in the industry.
There will be over 300 exhibiting companies from 15 countries,
showcasing more than 1000 new products and services. Though the number
of stalls have been increased by 50 percent from last year the event has
sold nearly 80% of its booth space within three months of launching it
in January 2011, which shows the demand for the event. Only a limited
number of booths remain to accommodate a few more stalls. The organizers
are planning to consider moving to other areas in the exhibition venue
next year giving the opportunity to all interested parties to take part
in the event.
The event will be opened on the first day from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00
noon for trade visitors and thereafter for the public till 8.00 p.m. and
on 27 and 28th from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. for the public.
The Gold sponsors of Pro Foods/Pro Pack 2011 are Wraptech Machines
India (local agent Trans Continental Packaging) and Ceylon Cold Stores
and the Silver Sponsor Alfa Laval (Pvt.) Ltd., who have come forward to
sponsor this 10th anniversary show.
This year's show will create opportunities for individuals and
companies to introduce new products, technology and services. The show
is a public private partnership, with the Industry and Commerce Ministry
and the Agriculture Ministry supporting the event for the tenth year in
succession.
The Profood/Propack International Exhibition 2011 is all about
getting Sri Lanka focused at this important task at hand. The event will
showcase the latest products in the local processed food industry,
sampling of consumer favourites, innovation and technology development
in packaging, newest agricultural machinery and services, processed food
hygiene education and many more.
This exhibition has been designed in such a manner that the general
public, who are the end consumers, derive substantial knowledge and
information about new products and advanced food technologies.
This is evidenced by the growing number of visitors to the exhibition
every year, making it one of the most popular exhibitions to be visited. |
