Minister highlights importance of eco-friendly technology

Environment Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa stressed the importance
of adopting an environmental-friendly technology to attain sustainable
development, during a meeting with Singaporean Environment and Water
Resources Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan in Singapore recently.
Minister Yapa said the cost-effectiveness and suitability of
technology used in developed countries must be studied before adopting
them.
They also discussed other environmental issues and mitigation
options.
Minister Yapa invited Minister Balakrishnan to join him on an
inspection tour of an environmental-friendly project conducted in Sri
Lanka. |
