Daham Uyana book launched

Silumina has taken action to publish important Dhamma articles to its
readers.
“This is an important attempt to make Dhamma articles available to
readers,” Colombo University Sinhala Department Prof Agalakada
Sirisumana thera said.

Some papers publish questionable ideologies through Dhamma articles,
the thera said addressing the Daham Uyana book launching ceremony held
at the Sambuddhaloka Temple in Fort recently.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of Amarapura Sanghasabha
General Secretary Bhrahmanawaththe Seewalee Thissa Thera.
The author of this book which is a Sarasavi publication, is Silumina
journalist Ramani Subasinghe. “Lake House is like a Sri Lankan cultural
institution with a Sri Lankan identity,” said Chief Incumbent of the
Mount Lavinia Buddhist Centre Diviyagaha Yasassi Thera adding that this
was a significant launch marking the 2600th Sambuddhatva Jayanthi.
Silumina editor Karunadasa Sooriyaarachchi said that publishing
Dhamma articles is not an easy task. “It is very important to develop
attitudes of the people,” he said.
Lake House Editorial Director Seelarathna Senarath, Operations
Director Upul Dissanayake, Chief Administrative Officer Rohana
Ariyarathna, Dinamina Editor Mahinda Abeysundara and Budusarana Editor
Nelson Perera were among those who participated. |
