Deyata Kirula Development Week:
ITI help to test drinking water

The Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) has extended its support to
test drinking water in the Medawachchiya Divisional Secretariat under
the Deyata Kirula Development Week.
The week began on July 25 and ends on July 31, Medawachchiya
Divisional Secretary L P Madanayake told the Daily News.
“A number of shramadana campaigns have also been conducted under the
aesis of the Deyata Kirula development project. There are 37 Grama
Niladhari Divisions in the Medawachchiya Divisional Secretariat. A
number of people participated in various shramadana campaigns such as
cleaning reservoirs, reconstructing roads and repairing temples,he said.
“On July 27, around 200 officers including those from the Civil
Security forces, public health inspectors, midwives, samurdi officers
and Grama Niladharis participated in a shramadana campaign to clean a
number of eateries and boutiques in the town. Officers issued
instructions to keep these places clean and free from dengue,” he said. |
