Ministry to provide more power to NWP

The Power and Energy Ministry will provide electricity to 200,000 families in the North Western Province.

Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka making this observation at a ceremony held at the Customer Service Centre at Ceylon Electricity Board branch at Mahawa yesterday stated that the Ministry spends Rs 8,000 million for this project.

He also stated that this project is commenced to fulfill the government’s wish to provide electricity 100 percent by end of 2012. He added that Rs 108,000 is spent by the Ceylon Electricity Board to provide each of these houses, with electricity.
