The North Central Province Agriculture and Livestock Ministry has
taken action to distribute 100,000 chicks among low income families in
the North Central Province.
The North Central Province Agriculture and Livestock Minister K.H.
Nandasena said that this programme had been launched with the aim of
strengthening the economic situation of low income persons and promoting
their nutritional standards.
About 10,000 low income families have been selected for the
distribution of chicks. The programme will be carried out this year
through women's organizations. Around 40,000 chicks are to be
distributed as the initial phase of the programme.
