Bartenders' Competition
The 20th annual National Bartenders' Competition conducted by Ceylon
Hotel School Graduates Association (CHSGA) will be held today at
Cinnamon Grand in association with Free Lanka Trading.
The initial competition was held in regional level with six different
regions, namely Colombo, Negombo, Cultural Triangle, Kandy, South and
Deep South, with an average of 35 to 40 contestants joining-in.
It was encouraging for students of the hotel school (Sri Lanka
Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management) to join such a competition in
an early stage of their career. Quarter finals were held on July 18,
with the participation of 5 competitors selected from each region.
The finals will begin at 7 pm at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo today.
The event which will showcase the glamour and talents of the local
hospitality and its standards will be graced by a distinguish gathering
of invitees, diplomatic community and professionals in leisure industry.
The bartenders competitions will be held in two categories of
classical and flair bartending with a lot of juggling, flipping and
mixing the correct spirits to keep the crowds entertained and the best
talent to emerge victorious.
