Training in India for Lankans
The Indian government is offering 40 slots to Sri Lanka during
2011-12 (up to March 31, 2012) to be trained in India under the
Technical Cooperation Scheme (TCS) of Colombo Plan.
The TCS was established to provide technical assistance to
neighbouring Colombo Plan countries.
Through this scheme, India provides comprehensive and integrated
training to assist participants to enhance their administrative and
technical capabilities through human resource development. The programme
covers areas such as IT, management, mass communication, finance, rural
development, railways, remote sensing, parliamentary studies, public
administration and management, banking, rural development etc.
This year, 35 public and private sector institutes are offering 195
short term and long term courses.
The Indian government provides the entire cost for training including
the return international airfare, tuition fees, accommodation, emergency
medical treatment, living allowance, book allowances and study tour.
Nominations for courses may be forwarded in the prescribed
application form, along with copy of supporting documents to the Indian
High Commission through the Department of External Resources, Ministry
