The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka will provide information to Sri Lankan
citizens seeking employment abroad in the near future.
ICTA Chief Executive Officer Reshan Dewapura said this facility will
help to minimize various difficulties that Sri Lankan employees working
abroad face now.
This facility would specially enable Sri Lankan expatriate employees
to ascertain whether the 'agency' that assists them is genuine or bogus
and to know the true salary scale applicable to their category of job in
the foreign country they hope to be employed in.
Dewapura said the operation of the Foreign Employment Bureau has also
been obtained to this project.
The ICT also has taken steps to provide computer knowledge to about
75,000 Samurdhi beneficiaries jointly with the Samurdhi Authority.
They can also obtain internet facilities through Nenasala, Vidatha
centres.
This Samurdhi website also features a blog created by beneficiaries
which contributes to the improvement of its beneficiaries. |
