Navy SC appeals to SLRFU

Navy Sports Club has made an appeal to Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) against the results of the rugby match played versus Kandy Sports Club on July 9 at Nittawela.

The match was a crucial and important match for both teams as up to the said match both teams were unbeaten and the winner was likely to be made the league champs. A drop goal that was converted by the Navy SC, which was first allowed, was later disallowed causing Navy SC to lose 03 valuable points. Further, a try that should have been awarded to the Navy SC was unreasonably disallowed once again denying Navy SC to lose more valuable points. The result of the match, therefore, would have been different had the game been fairly adjudicated.

Considering the above facts, Navy SC has appealed to SLRFU that the match be annulled, the points awarded to Kandy SC for the match be with drawn and it be replayed on a subsequent day. It also appeals to SLRFU to ensure that such situations do not occur in the future.
