Hindu College win Diamond Jubilee Trophy

Hindu College, Bambalapitiya won the Diamond Jubilee Challenge Trophy by defeating Jaffna Hindu College by four wickets in their annual cricket encounter played at Bambalapitiya.

Having won the toss, the home team opted to field first. Jaffna Hindu College made 255 all out in 47.5 overs with Sajeeban and Kalkohan contributed scoring half centuries. R Dhivagaran took six wickets for 64 runs for the hosts.

The Bambalapitiya boys had no difficulty in reaching the target and went on to win the match by four wickets. A Yasotharan's 89 heldped them to do the needful and I M Muneeb had his share with 48 runs.

A Yasotharan of Hindu College, Bambalapitiya was adjudged the man of the match while Sajeeban of Jaffna Hindu College won the beat batsman award.

R Dhivagaran of Hindu College, Colombo won the award for the best bowler.
