Vidyartha triumph

An unbroken fifth wicket stand of 86 between Sherad Buddhika (56 not out) and M H Elpitiya (39 not out) helped Vidyartha College to register a six wicket win over St Mary's College, Kegalle in their schools under-17 Division One cricket tournament played at Public Grounds, Kegalle yesterday.

When the Marians batted it was M H Elpitiya who caused the slide by capturing 4 for 38 to dismiss them for 165.

St Mary's College:

165 all out in 50 overs (S A M Samarasinghe 51, W A M Malik 32, A A Madhushan 26, T D Senaratne 16, D P R L Madhushan 11, S I Ranjith 13, M H Elpitiya 4 for 38, M G S M Wickremaratne 2 for 20).

Vidyartha College:

166 for 4 wickets in 33 overs (A V D R Nanayakkara 18, N D Ranaweera 13, Sherad Buddhika 56 n.o, M H Elpitiya 39 n.o, A A Madhushan 2 for 27).
