SLC earns record Rs 92 m profit

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has earned a record breaking Rs. 92 million
revenue by selling World Cup match tickets. Among them only Rs 3 million
is to be remitted to the Sri Lanka Cricket account while the rest of Rs.
89 million has already been deposited.
It is revealed that though SLC expected a revenue around Rs. 99
million, tickets valued at Rs. 6.9 million were not sold during the
World Cup matches. The money due to SLC for tickets issued to the
cricketers and foreign cricket boards has not been received.
The highest income from World Cup matches played in Sri Lanka came
from the Sri Lanka Vs New Zealand semi final match played at R.
Premadasa stadium in which SLC earned Rs. 34 million from ticket sales.
