Work connected with Deyata Kirula at full steam

Around three million rupees worth shramadana work was carried out on
Monday in preparation of the first Deyata Kirula programme to be held in
the Padaviya Divisional Secretariat. Padaviya Divisional Secretary R P B
Ekanayake told the Daily News.
The first provincial development week of the Deyata Kirula national
implementation commenced in the Padaviya Divisional Secretariat on July
11 at 9.00 am.
This inaugural programme commenced under the patronage of North
Central Provincial member Kalyani Karaliyedda.
"All rural community organizations such as Rural Development
Societies participated in the programme under the Deyata Kirula Rural
Steering Committee," he added.
The cleaning of the Kumbukwewa is the main programme under the
Padaviya Divisional Secretariat.
Plans are under way to remove water hyacinth from Kumbukwewa in the
Maithripura area under this project. Along with this programme, two
other major tanks were also cleaned up. Around 1,000 people participated
in the water reservoir shramadana campaign. Under the Deyata Kirula
inaugural programme, the Buddhangala cemetery was cleared of encroached.
Connecting D-Yaya and Buddhangala two Grama Seva Divisions and
clearing an abandoned road was carried out under this programme.
In addition to the Buddhangala Sudharshanaramaya repairing programme,
other temples too are being renovated.
The mobile service in the Padaviya Divisional Secretariat to mark the
Deyata Kirula will commence on July 16 and officers from every ministry
of the central government and the provincial government will
participate.
The mobile service will be held at Mahasen Maha Vidyalaya Padaviya.
Along with the inaugural programme, 16 schools in the Padaviya
Divisional Secretariat have also implemented development programmes.
