Eela Nallur Suntharalingam Sathyalingam passed away in Singapore. He
was a Sangeetha Sironmani (Degree in Music) from the University of
Madras and also holds a Diploma in Music from Kalkshetra. Since 1955 he
has performed and conducted Bharatha Natyam recitals in India, Sri
Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Japan and the United Kingdom.
He has been teaching classical Indian music and has been the music
director for Apsara Arts since 1975. In recognition of his contribution
to Indian arts in foreign countries he was bestowed with accolade and
title of Vishwa Kala Bharathi by Bharath Kalachar in Chennai in 1955. He
was also a member of Singapore National Arts Council – Music Advisory
Panel. He was the music controller for the Tamil Music Section of the
SLBC.

Award winning film and teledrama director Ananda Abeynayake is in
search of 12 new faces for his latest teledrama Appachi. Popular actor
Jackson Anthony stars in the main star for the production.
This will also be Jackson’s first recording in 15 years. Those who

Prof Sunanda Mahendra’s latest Sinhala book Kosol Raja Dutu Budun
Vahanse was launched at Dayawansa Jayakody Bookshop, Colombo 10 on July
12. Prof Mahendra is the author of Devdath Mavata Menavi, Dangara
Thrappuva, Metteiya Theravatha, Niruvath Devivaru and
Niralambanaya.Kosol Raja Dutu Budun Vahanse is a Dayawansa Jayakody
