Moods - 2011 is the first costume show organized by the third year undergraduates attached to Department of Drama, Ballet and Modern Dance, University of Visual and Performing Arts. The main aim of this costume show is to study the subject of creating costumes for drama, ballet and modern dance.

Drama is an extensive subject area. Many subjects related to drama such as lighting, background and stage management are not studied properly. The costume design show will set an example to study other subjects related to drama, the Course Guide Anura Priyantha said.

The University of Visual and Performing Arts, in their measures to make art popular in the country, expect to build a new fashion culture. Making attire for actors and actress the designers must pay close attention to raw materials.

Flexibility, sweat absorption and cloth stretching should be considered before making attire. Besides, the makers must identify colour expression of selected cloths.

Black colour is easy on surface for a lighting artiste. The colour is popular in western countries in night shows for common costumes. Black played a main role in the costume show, which had the participation of about 19 students.
