Govt intelligence uncovers several cropped video clips - Minister Keheliya

Media and Mass Communication Minister and Defence spokesperson Keheliya Rambukwella yesterday said the government’s intelligence network has found several cropped video clips and multimedia files from sources that enabled the making of controversial Channel 4 video footage.

Suspect with 29 kgs of sambhur meat arrested

Kahatagasdigiliya police seized 29 kilos of sambhur meat and arrested a suspect transporting it in a three wheeler at Thimbiriwewa, Kahatagasdigiliya on Monday. Police said that the suspect R M Vipula Jayalath, a resident of Thimbiriwewa, Parakumpura is a disabled soldier.

Over 500 ex-LTTEers released

Another batch of 552 former LTTE cadres, who had completed their term of rehabilitation were reintegrated into society yesterday. They were released at a function presided over by Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Minister Chandrasiri Gajadheera at Punthottam Tamil Vidyalaya in Vavuniya yesterday.
