Korea to help vocational training sector

The Korean government has agreed to provide assistance to establish two Vocational training centres in Trincomalee and Serunuwara and a technical college in Pasikuda under a new project to uplift the vocational training sector.

This was discussed at a meeting between, Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister Dullas Alahapperuma and Korean Ambassador Jong Mun Choi at the ministry recently.

They also agreed to develop the Orugodawaththa Vocational Training Centre, Matara and Gampaha Technical College under this project, Minister Alahapperuma said. According to the ambassador, Korea's International Co-operation Agency (KOICA) will provide assistance for skills development and the Korean government has decided to provide foreign training opportunities for Sri Lankans.
