FITIS Training Chapter appoints new Ex-Co

The Executive Council for the year 2011/12 of the Federation of
Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) Training Chapter was
appointed at the AGM held recently. The Association of Computer Training
Organizations (ACTOS) established in 1996 is a founder member of FITIS
and plays a significant role in developing and promoting ICT in Sri
Lanka as the Training Chapter of FITIS. The members of ACTOS are
companies whose business is providing education and training in the
information technology industry. The membership at present stands at 30.
The newly elected ACTOS President Dr Kithsiri Manchanayake said
"FITIS Training Chapter membership is taking the initiative to uplift
and maintain training standards to ensure that the ICT training by
private sector training organizations builds necessary capacity that
country needs for achieving the national objective of becoming the
knowledge hub in the region."
FITIS Training Chapter - ACTOS holds seminars and workshops for the
training of IT management staff, publishes a Directory of members,
actively involved in FITIS activities of taking ICT to rural areas and
introducing new technologies to the IT industry, promote soft skills
development combined with ASAP Accreditation Training and plan to
conduct the National ICT Quiz Program and preparing policy
recommendations to the government.

FITIS training chapter for the year 2011/12. President - Dr. Kithsiri
Manchanayake, Vice President - Lionel Perera, Secretary - Ranmal
Godigamuwa, Asst. Secretary - Viraj Pinto, Treasurer - Upul Dassanayake,
Asst. Treasurer - Manoree Gunasena, Immediate Past President- Dr. H.K.
