Renowned actor Roshan Ranawana launched his website in style at a special gathering held at Continental Hotel last week. The web launch was organised by S Three: Sangeetha Weeraratne, Shereen Kumaratunga and Sudharma Nethicumara.

Roshan’s maternal grandparents with director Udayakantha Warnasuriya who introduced the young actor to the silver screen launched the web site while Ravindra Randeniya, Malani Fonseka, Nawaloka Construction Chairman and former NFC Chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa and Dushy Parakrama who introduced Roshan to modeling cut the cake to mark the event. The website was designed by Crisanto Global.

Presenter turned actress Nirosha Perera compered the event which was graced by many well known personalities in the entertainment sector. Sriyani Amarasena, Sabeetha Perera, Rosie Senanayake, Saranga Dissasekara, Oshadi Hewamadduma and many others were present to extend their wishes to Roshan.

Lyricist Nilar N Cassim who had penned some of the most successful songs which adorned Roshan’s films made the key note address.

“Roshan had proven himself as a versatile actor by taking on roles. His character in the popular hit Aasai Man Piyambanna is poles apart from Maha Naga in Mahindagamanaya. He had also shown his vocal talents in a song that he recorded with Nehara Peries,” he said.

“Roshan filled a much need void in the cinema scene when he first appeared in Hiripoda Vessa. He touched many hearts and proved that he can excel as an actor. I wish him well and hope that he will continue to enthrall us in his performances. Film is the best media in which the emotions can be touched,” Randeniya said.

Speaking at the event Roshan noted that the year marks five years in his acting career and 10 years in modeling. He had already done 10 movies.
