Legal Aid Commission holds awareness programme

The Legal Aid Commission (LAC) held an awareness programme recently in Badulla with the participation of Grama Niladharis and school principals of the area.

The programme was conducted at the Divisional Secretariat auditorium. Assistant District Secretary RHC Priyanthi was also present at the inauguration ceremony.

The principals' training programme was held at the Uva Provincial Council auditorium.

The keynote address was delivered by Sanjeewani Abeykoon. President's Counsel M Perera, LAC Consultant Y A D S K Wickremasinghe and Attorney-at-Law Vishaka Ratnayake also participated.

LAC Legal Officer Shyama Abeyweera and LAC Legal Office Badulla organized the programme.

Attorneys-at-Law Nilanthi Kumari and Harshani Balaharuwa of the Legal Aid Commission co-ordinated the two programmes.
