Sacred places to be vested with Adhivasi

Ten places considered as sacred by the Adhivasi population will be vested with them at the request of Veddah Chief Uruwarige Wanniyaleththo.

The places such as Dhanakirigala, Kokagala, Paluwagala and Depagala villages adjacent to the Dambana and Henanigala Adhivasi villages, Heena Wanniya, Gorikana, Bingoda, Rathugala close to the Polle Bedda area Anigala and Hena Bedda near the Rathugala Adhivasi village and Dimbulagala in the village of Dalukana Millana are considered as sacred villages by the Adhivasi population.

The Adhivasi face difficulties in making religious rituals as the villages have been demarcated for the Wildlife and Forest Conservation Departments.
