Road closed for Perahera

The Colombo-Kandy main road near Kegalle will be closed today due to the Poson Perahera to be conducted by Sri Gnanodaya Samithiya of Weweldeniya. The police request the public to use alternative routes by turning left at Ranwala junction and drive along the Kegalle-Polgahawela main road upto Imbulgasdeniya junction and turn right at Hiriwadunna and proceed along Kegalle-Rambukkana main road and reach the Colombo-Kandy main road at Karandupana junction.

Those travelling from Kandy are requested to turn left at Karandupana junction and proceed toward Hiriwadunna. Drivers are requested to take the Polgahawela road and drive up to Kongashandiya and turn left at Imbugasdeniya junction to Polgahawela and take the Colombo-Kurunegala main road as an alternative route.
