Sylvestrians thrash Johnians 65-0

St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy inflicted a crushing 65 points (4 goals, 1 penalty goal, 6 tries) to nil win St. John’s College, Nugegoda in their schools under 20 Division One Segment B rugby tournament match played at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy. At half the Sylvestrians led 29-0.

This was Sylvestrians fourth success for the season. They dominated play right from the kick off and their skipper Lahiru Jayatissa did well to run with the ball to score three tries.

In fact Lahiru missed the earlier games due to a shoulder injury. Newcomer Dananjaya Bandara Kulatunga displayed that he is a talented player by scoring three tries one of them being a fine run from midfield.

The other try scores were Chamila Dissanayake (2), Prakash Arvindan (1) and Ishan Ratnayake (1). Sahan Rabel goalled 3 tries and skipper Lahiru Jayatissa added the extra points to the other 2 tries.
