Tamil classes for MPs

The National Language and Social Integration Ministry commenced teaching Tamil language to Members of Parliament from yesterday.

The programme was held yesterday under the patronage of Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. Ministers and parliamentarians also participated.

This training is concentrated mainly on spoken Tamil and will be held in the morning of Wednesday and Friday when Parliament sittings are held. Classes are conducted for two hours before sittings commence.

The training period is six months.

This training course is open to government and opposition members.
