Administrative officers recruited for PCs

The Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry will recruit 400 new administrative officials to fill all vacancies in provincial level administrative offices, said Minister W.D.J.Seneviratne.

"The transfer system of state officials should be more clear and efficient. It is important to fill the vacancies to provide an efficient service to the public," the minister said.

Minister Seneviratne was addressing a meeting at the Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry recently."We have made a transfer system for State workers and it had been approved by the Cabinet".

"The time frame has been demarcated as three years for Customs Department and Motor Traffic Department, five years for the Immigration and Emigration Department and three years for the Inland Revenue Department," the minister said.

Meanwhile, the minister said the administration of the Grama Niladharies' service will be directed to the Provincial Councils.

It has also been proposed to establish a Human Resources Management Unit at the Public Administration Ministry.
