Three power sector exhibitions

The power requirement in Sri Lanka will be doubled in five to ten
years because of the direct relationship with the Government's vision to
fulfil people's expectations, former Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB)

Speaking at a press conference on fifth Power Sri Lanka 2011
International Expo organised by CEMS-Global Conference and Exhibition
Management Services which will be held from June 16 to 18 at the Sri
Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre, he said infrastructure is very
important to develop any country in the world and investors coming to
the country will look for new technology and therefore the country
should be ready with these equipments. Power and Energy Ministry
Additional Secretary Tissa M Herath said Power and Energy Ministry has
endorsed the fifth Power Sri Lanka exhibition considering the importance
of this event.
The exhibition is devoted to the development of power generation and
transmission, alternative power, PV power, energy and renewable energy
sectors of Sri Lanka.
CEMS Group Director S S Sarvar said the Sri Lankan government wants
to seek new technology with emphasis on tapping alternative energy
sources for power generation which would take a big load off existing
reserves.
There will be three concurrent exhibitions namely Renewable Energy
Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo and E-Power Sri Lanka 2011
International Expo focusing on electric power equipment and technology
which will cover entire power and energy sector of Sri Lanka with a huge
scope for expansion. |
