Katunayake EPZ returns to normalcy

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka yesterday said that the situation in the Katunayake Export Processing Zone (EPZ), has returned to normal in the aftermath of an unfortunate incident which resulted in the death of an employee.

According to BoI Media Director, Dilip Samarasinghe, Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapkasa convened a special meeting with the investors at the Katunayake EPZ and discussed the situation .

This meeting was held a few hours after the clash that erupted between the employees and the Police on May 30.

He added that peace prevails in an around the Katunayake EPZ and the BoI is constantly in touch with the management of the companies and the employees in general.
