More rains expected

The Meteorological Department yesterday said more showers can be expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and the Galle district with the activation of the South West monsoon. According to the duty forcaster of the Department, the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces experienced intermittent rain throughout yesterday and more rains can be expected today too.

He said no low pressure situation is forming around the country. “We expect fairly heavy showers within the next 12 hours specially in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and the Galle districts,” he said.
